Mazda3 quieter then Speed3?

I gotta say yes. My friend just picked up a Mazda3 GT and we were tooling around today. I was pretty surprised that it was quite a bit quieter then my car.

I'm thinking that the Speed3 is missing some insulation to save weight?

what do you think?

I think so.. I'm almost positive the Speed3 is lighter then the regular 3

Mine's pretty freakin loud though

I think you're right, the Speed3 has less sound deading material to make it lighter.

Mazda3 2906 lbs

I take it back, just did a quick search on google and this is what I found. Does that make sense?

which one is it? I'm pretty much leaning towards the speed3 but I like my cars as light as possible.. I guess the power more then makes up for it?

I've seen conflicting reports all over the net. I think the number for the MazdaSpeed3 looks right though
