Hey BassMan,
It's supposed to do that, so when you lock up the car and walk away ( more so at night ) the light will flash and anyone scoping out your car will see that an alarm is set. Unless I'm not getting what you're saying. |

thanks guys
good to know that it's normal .. the indicator starts to flash as soon as I turn off the ignition (therefore the car is not yet locked or alarmed - isn't that a bit dumb? I would have expected it to flash once the car is alarmed. also if I lock the car with the fob - and then open the driver's door with the key, the alarm goes off. Therefore if the fob is required to unlock and disarm the car how can I use the key? or am I missing something and being stooopid? |

Hiya Bassman, welcome to the forum.
It is a bit dumb, but it's just a very simple way of deterring would be theives, whether it's even operational is secondary, if you think it works, you're more apt to leave it alone. The key thing is weird, since if you unlock it with the key it should turn off the alarm, worst case, it will turn off when you turn the ignition, but they you have to listen to the horn honk for a while...ya, that is pretty stupid. An interesting experiment would be to lock the car with the key and then unlock and see what happens
