Okay, so all is going good, I am picking up my friend about to go to a car show. I accelerate and all of a sudden my CEL came on and I lost my acceleration power. The CEL is, P2135 TP sensor No.1/No.2 voltage correlation ON 1 CCM, according to AutoZone. So I need info. on what to do because I installed my cp-e intake a few weeks ago, and I can guarantee if I take it to the dealer they will deny my warranty because they are pricks about it. So sometimes when I turn my car on I got acceleration, but it's not powerful. Then when I slow down, it feels like I'm riding a bull by my car jerking back and forth. I have read that it could my my throttle body, ignition coil, or my pedal positioning system.
So um, any help would be appreciated before I have to go to the dealer's and dish out my own money ![]() |

Looks like this is a known issue with the Mazda6's
here's a link to the TSB MIL Illumination with DTC P2135 Throttle Body The intake should have no barring on the problem, just print it out, tell them you ran the code, and have them fix it. If they do give you a hassle, I'd seriously consider another dealer. I don't mind doing work myself, but I have a warranty for a reason. Hope that helps. |

I have an 06s and the TSB is for 03-05 year models. Do you think it will matter? And my TB already says "BB" on it.
And there is one other Mazda dealer if you need a service you go to the main one which I go to. I will check into it though. And they gave me a hassle about replacing my windshield because I have lowering springs (ended up going through insurance) Last edited by RJB_M6 : 07-29-2007 at 01:09 AM. |

Ya, that's crap, they can only deny your warranty if they can prove that the mods affected the faulty part.. they'd have a whole lot of trouble doing that.
It's a known problem, even with the replacement parts, so I don't think you'll have any problems. Good luck! |

Okay, so what should I do to prepare in case they try to deny my warranty because of my CAI? I mean should I just say you have to prove it directly caused the problem? I mean they already don't take me seriously since I am 18, and they are all old, so I don't want to make myself look much more of a fool in front of them.

just reinstall the stock intake, and act dumb
![]() since many CAI's are major modifications to the mfg designed intake setup, the dealership has a pretty good case they could make to deny your claim as warranty work, since the computer code is related to a major part of the engines intake system. (tho the chances that a CAI system caused the problem are in the less than 1% department, ehe) |

I was going to say something to the affect of your age, since I didn't know, I suspected you were younger then me anyway
![]() Sadly it's typical practice to assume that an 18 year old would abuse thier car, etc. and have issues with the dealer. Funny when you think that most 18 year olds, car enthusiasts especially know a lot more about cars then your average 40 something ( no offense to the 40 somethings I know there's lots that know thier shit too ) but kids still get treated like kids.Hate to say it, but if I was in your posistion, I'd call up my Dad and ask if he wanted to take a little trip to the dealer with me, then I'd buy him a hotdog. Odds are that if the dealer knows that they cant pull one over on you they won't try. The TSB listed shows the fault, regardless of the part number ( if I read it right ) so CAI or not, it's a known issue, and the dealer should replace it. It's a simple fix, the dealer get paid, has little to gain from charging you direct, save for a little extra profit, and keeps you a happy customer. From the sounds of it, there isn't a lot of competition around you to shop around.. where I am, there are 30 dealerships I could drive to, so if I get shit service, they know I can take my car somewhere else, and they loose out on everything else, including more car sales. My overall advice, you got nothing to lose by going in prepared, and furthermore, make friends with your service manager, strike up a conversation, when you walk in and see him, give him a big wave and say Hey Joe, how's it hangin? It's hard to be a dick to someone you're freindly with...unless you're me..I'm a dick to everyone ![]() |

haha. Well I had my car towed to another dealer today, I ask for a flatbed, and what do they bring? A tow truck, I swear my car had to be about 6 inches off the ground in the back end of not lower
But the new dealer just called me saying they got it and it should be done by tomorrow night unless they have to order parts. He was very confident saying they would fix it under warranty, blah blah, until he asked what accessory's (sp?) I installed. Once I told him my intake, he was kinda less confident, judging by his voice, but he still seemed that it should be covered under warranty. |

Well finally I get my car back tomorrow! They got it in today, and they ran a shit loads of tests I was told. They drove my car and the code came back pending, whatever that means. So they called me and asked if a tech could take it home over night so they could put some more miles on it to ensure the CEL was gone for good (at least until I leave the dealer with it). I said alright, so when he comes into work in the morning, and if everything went smooth, I get to go pick it up.
p.s. They asked me what my extra wiring was on my ecu, I was like it's for my intake so it doesn't throw a CEL (except I say check engine light cuz they dont understand CEL when I say CEL). But it seemed like they were fine with it. |

It's the MAF customizer that cp-e made. I am not positive on exactly how to say this, but it prevents your car from throwing a CEL from your intake. I don't know much about this part since I have not researched it.

Well, I have to admit, I was hesitant to let the dealer wash my car, since I heard many stories on another forum about that turning out bad. But my car looks fantastic after the wash! They even got the bugs off the front bumper that I am too lazy to take off.
What the dealer did to fix my CEL, according to them, was that they reset it and they couldn't get the CEL to come back so they say they fixed it. I guess they ran a bunch of tests and diagnostics, checking pin connectors and all that sort of stuff. Either way, I am pretty happy, except for my notes below. On a side note, my car seems to lag a bit when its between 1-2.5k RPMs, but maybe it just has to adjust back to it's "faster" acceleration. Also, the only thing I was not happy with at this new dealer, is that the front of my bumper is scraped in a very small spot. My bet is that the tech who took my car home for the night bottomed out on something not realizing it's so low. I don't really mind since I am going to get the lip that Corksport is making, but it just agitates me knowing that the mark is there. ![]() ![]() While I was taking these pictures, I took pictures of my engine bay just since I have never taken them before. Here is a link since I am to lazy to repost them here. RE: detailing your engine bay...

I am so pissed right now. I am driving to the movies, and all of a sudden, no acceleration. Once again my CEL came on and it's the same thing that happened last time.
I am beginning to think that it's the wiring I connected to the ECU, I am gonna tighten them tomorrow, but do you think I should solder them? If anyone else here has the cp-e mafci, have you had any problems with yours?
