A little help please... My girlfriend's 03 mazda 6 with a 2,3 is sitting in my driveway right now. It ran fine this morning, but now it won't start. The battery is charged, I already checked. When I turn the key I hear lots of clicks in the dash and the gauges go haywire. The clicks aren't the starter or solenoid. The check engine light stays on if the key is left in the on position, and it will eventually blink nine times. I though I could reset the computer by pulling the main fuse, but low and behold, it's blown. The manual says to take it to the dealer and I'm not that kind of guy. This is my first time looking at a mazda and any advice will help.
It's a 100 amp fuse and I can't imagine what would trip it if it had no prior problems. Maybe i shouldn'b bring this up here, but on my toyota pickup I can get the engine code by bridging two ECU terminals with a wire and counting the engine light flashes. Can I do this with a Maxzda, and if I do, how do i interpret the codes. Otherwise, it's a cool car and I love it when the grilfriend goes out of town so I can drive it. |

Hey John, welcome to the forum. Sounds like you got something nasty going on there.
Here's a list of all the codes if you can borrow a reader.. I've heard you can jump GRD and TEN while the ignition is turned on, but I haven't tried it, and I don't have the matrix of what the flashes mean. Hopefully someone can chime in on this. Hey John, welcome..
I've tried the flash code thing, and for some reason I haven't been able to get the flash codes to match what is out there on a google search. ( If I find it again I'll post it ) So as the others say, best to borrow a reader if you can. |
