I like to do oil changes frequently, so I'm not all that concerned if my oil can last 10000 miles..
Aside from that, what's better? Is Syntetic worth the extra money? does it give that much more protection? would regular oil be just as good if you change it ever 2500-3000 miles? |

I use synthetic.. it offers alot more protection then regular oil, especially at start up when most of the damage takes place. It also doesn't break down as fast as regular oil, so even if you're changing frequently, you at least know that your oil is good.
I don't think you're doing yourself any harm if you don't use it. Unless the car specifies it, keeping ontop of it is the most important thing. I've known *ahem* someone that didn't change thier oil for 1.5 years and 30000 miles!!!
