Default Oil...Synthetic or Mineral?

I like to do oil changes frequently, so I'm not all that concerned if my oil can last 10000 miles..

Aside from that, what's better? Is Syntetic worth the extra money? does it give that much more protection? would regular oil be just as good if you change it ever 2500-3000 miles?

I can't say I know much about the differances, but I'm lazy, so I use Synthetic because I can leave it in longer.

Synthetic for me, I guess I can't prove it offers better protection, but I know it does

I don't use synthetic, just change my oil frequently. I don't really see the point

I use synthetic.. it offers alot more protection then regular oil, especially at start up when most of the damage takes place. It also doesn't break down as fast as regular oil, so even if you're changing frequently, you at least know that your oil is good.

I don't think you're doing yourself any harm if you don't use it. Unless the car specifies it, keeping ontop of it is the most important thing.

I've known *ahem* someone that didn't change thier oil for 1.5 years and 30000 miles!!!
