Default Transmission notchiness

My trans has been getting notchier and notchier ( is that a word? ) for the past while now, I was thinking new fluid might help, but it's not that old.

Any one else having this problem?

Mine gets that way sometimes, and a fluid replacement helps. I changed over to royal purple and it lasts a lot longer.

For the cost involved, it's definatly worth doing.

Mine has actually been great, but I hear that this is fairly common. Maybe the dealer can install new bushings?

^ I would think that would be documented if that was the case. 9 times out of 10 you got crap fluid in there. Change it out and you should be good. The 6 shifter isn't the smoothest on the best of days, so don't expect it to be perfect. I also find if you don't force the shifts it's much smoother. When you get excited and start ramming away at them, it wants to fight back

True, can't say I've heard anything about it. All in all, probably nothing to be overly concerned about anyway

Thanks guys, getting it flushed on Friday, so hopefully that makes it a little better. It wasn't always like this, maybe as it loosens up it starts to go out a little bit.

Funny you ask, I was just about to post an update..

For those wondering, I had the tranny flushed and it's like butter now.. sooooo smooth. they showed me the old fluid and it was all black and stank like shit. They said it looked like it cooked. But there were no shavings in there, so there should be no damage.

This change was way before it was scheduled, so I would reccomend to anyone with a problem to go get it flushed and refilled. Makes a big differance, and less chance of damage.

Had mine done as well, plus diff, engine, etc. Car feels like new. I wouldn't have expected it, but everything is much more quiet and smoother!
