Default TS2 Suspension/Exhaust Noises

Hello All,

Hope you're all having a good week... I was wondering if any of you have had a similar problem to the one I am currently experincing or can advise in any way??

For a number of weeks I've had a knocking/clunking sound in the following situations;

Pulling off in the morning (now and again, not everyday) although i suspect the cold and frost has something to do with that.
Turning right on roundabouts, although not all roundabouts
Going over even the smallest bumps (this isn't the usual sound when you hit a hole or drain etc)
Going over sharp hills, that raise and drop rather quickly, although at highspeed i'd expect this sort of noise but not at a slow speed which is the case here.

At first i thought it was a suspension issue. So i took it to the garage and they said the suspension was absolutley fine. I thought great, but since then the knocking has increased slightly (coincidentally or not?).

I'm not sure whether to go for a second opinion or go to a Mazda workshop for an opinion. If its not the suspension, i thought perhaps a loose exahust system, which I had an issue with on my previous car which was a Fiat, and that made a similar noise whilst going right around the roundabouts.

I've had a look under the car (as much as I can) and the left side of the suspension/control arm/spring/shock absorber (lol, sorry I haven't a clue what it might be) as a lot lower (as in nearer the ground) than that on the right hand side. Infact on the right hand side you can't see the spring/shock absorber at all, on the left handside you can easily see virtually the whole of this spring/absorber. I assume this shouldn't be the case on the left handside. Does anyone have a diagram/pic of how it should look, i then might be alble to figure this out some more.

Apart from all this, i'm stuck with what the problem is, does anyone have any ideas??

Cheers guys

Alex

My exhaust was banging before, it had slipped out of one of the rubber bushings. It was hard to tell until I got right underneath. Once I put it back it was good as new.

Me too, but a clunking sound is usually a wheel hub assembly, more then a metal banging metal sound

could be the strut top bearing starting to go on the front end.or simply that 1 of the shock absorbers is worn out or just that the rod is dry in the shock absober.hopefully its not too serious.goodluck
