Nope, can't say I have that problem, but it sounds like a worn bushing. No way should it be worn in that short amount of time, so it sounds like a defective unit from the factory.

Believe it or not, not a tough fix for a solid mechanic.

Welcome to the forum, sorry for the late response.

Could be a synchro problem as well.. does it ever grind when changing gears, even when you have the clutch in all the way?

It's not common, at least as far as I can tell. I've had cars where the fluid seems to help, but imo it's indicative of a bigger problem.

If it's bad, I'm cause a stink to get something done.

the service manager at mazda told me his mazda 6 does it, its aproblem they are aware of on the 6 speed diesels and nothing they can do. I must say its more of a niggle than a big problem, its just a fact I bought a new car and you dont expect that ! like I said its more of a notchy feel than crunching

I'll admit it's not the smoothest tranny I've ever felt, but I'm pretty sure you guys are talking about something else. If I think too much about it, I'll probably get the problem too

Sometimes it feels like the clutch isnt pressed enough, so it tries to grind its way in even though the clutch is pressed to the floor, i have had it also when i have been in second, put the clutch down and only doing about 10mph gone into 1st its made a grinding noise then also... have noticed it a couple of times.... none of my other cars have done this before, and its the way i have always driven....very strange.....

Also, I have never felt a smooth tranny either.... or a rough one... not my bag really!!

HAHA Mindcore, you have to stay away from those seedy areas

I don't have this problem, but it sounds exactly like a synchro problem. I've seen this in a few cars over the years. Mazda will say it's because of poor shifting techniques no doubt, but I'll bet it's a faulty synchro from the factory. Hopefully they step up and issue a TSB
