What do you guys think of rebadging? I figure we're not in Japan, so what's the point?
Sure it's to be different I suppose, but seriously, it's not like were driving Ferrari's, we're driving Mazda's so why the mystery? Prompted by seeing two Axlea badges today ![]() |

Like you said, people want to be different.
I'm either way on it, doesn't bother me. I wouldn't bother doing it just because I don't see the value in it. But if I see someone with JDM badging I know that they are at least knowledgeable about what they're driving |

I personally hate JDM badging, as others have said, we're not in Japan. But I get why people do it. I wouldn't, but it does make it unique, and I also agree that if you see one badged that way, odds are they're an enthusiast.

I think it's cool, it shows the heritage of the car. Instead, most MFG's dumb it down for North America by making up some new name that marketing thinks will sell better.
Imagine Lamborghini calling the Gallardo the SX200 because NA'ers would like it better. |
