Default car jolts when a/c is on

Has anyone felt there car jolt when the A/C is on? The service dept is saying it's normal, I think not. The car has to be on DRIVE, the A/C on, as soon as I come to a stop the car Jolts and you can feel it idle wierd. Has anyone had this problem with their 07 Mazda3?

Depends on how bad the jolt is.

The compressor constantly turns on and off when you're driving, especially if you hammer the gas to prevent damage.

Sometimes when you come to a stop the compresser is off, and when it kicks on it takes power from the engine, brakes get a little weaker which makes it jerk a bit, and the idle will drop, then level out usully a little higher then normal.

Try sitting still with the AC off and hitting the button, if it feels the same then it's nothing to worry about, if not, or it happens every single time.. then ya, it's not normal, and they should be able to address it.

I've never had this problem before, but that makes sense, I've felt the AC come on and it's much rougher then you would think it would be

naw, that doesn't sound normal. Maybe there is something wrong with the compressor..

Mine used to do that, and it got worse and worse.. the dealer finally decided that is was the compressor and that it was bogging down the engine too much. they replaced it, though they had the car for 4 days, but it's perfect now
