Default Extended warranty on my Mazda3

Hey guys, I have a 2006 Mazda3. My dealer has offered an extended warranty if I purchase it now that will give me an additional 3 years and 50k miles.

$850 to do it. Do you think it's a good idea? would I use that much in repairs?

Thanks

I think it's worth it if you have had problems with your car in the past. Simple things like coil packs, wheel bearings etc, can get exensive.

I think the price sounds a little high though. Remember this is a commodity item, you can get deals on it, call around to a few dealerships and see if you can get it cheaper.

I agree, if your car has been bulletproof, don't bother, but if you've had little issues with it, if can definatly save you money in the long run.

Keep an eye on the amount of miles you get vs. years, sometimes you can burn thru your miles and still have a year left.

And like Lenny said, definatly shop it around. You can get pretty good deals on extended warranties if the dealership is hungry

I got mine 3 yr, 50 same as you for 600. Haven't used it yet, but it's nice to know I'm covered. I've had a few small problems with mine, and I'd just assume not have to pay for them if it keeps up.

Thanks guys, I took your advice and was able to get the same warranty for $550 so I figured at that price, why not? I have to think I'll use that up at least after my initial warranty runs out.

Beers on me if you're ever in the area!

That's a good deal.. nice work.

Even if you have a couple minor problems, you'll use up that 550 pretty quick. If I planned on keeping my car for a while, I would do it for sure myself.
