Hi...my first post.
I've got the 5 door, 2006. I've had so much trouble with bent rims and ruined tires I'm about to sell of my cool 3i. I live in the midwest and there is a lot of pot holes etc., but I'm in my 50's and don't drive crazy at all. Seems these 17" low profile wheels just can't hardly take a hit. I'm not kidding.. all four of my rims are bent and I've completey replaced one since it was unusable. I'm on my second set of tires with only 30k on the first set. Even the second set has had two replaced because the belts were damage from the rims. Anybody else having these difficulties? Other than this problem I love the car. ![]() |

No need to see the car, get yourself a set a 16" rims and put some higher profile tires one. You'll get more rubber between the rim and the road. It will help protect your rim, and give you a more comfy ride as well.
You should also talk to your local gov office. If the pot hole problem is that bad, they should be paying for the damage. welcome to the forum!
