Default What do you guys really think of the CX7?

I need a family hauler, and I'm thinking the CX7 is on the top of my list.

Also looking at the RDX and RX330 as well.

Some honest feedback would be great.

Thanks

I just took delivery of an 2007 sport CX7 with AWD. I love it - handles better than most cars I have driven, plus it has AWD and good ground clearance - a must for me as I drive a lot at construction sites.
I do wish that it had an exterior temperature gauge, and possibly a jack for my Ipod, but I really have nothing to want for.
Lots of room for the kids, and gear as well.
Sure a lot cheaper than the RDX and RX330 - but they do have a lot more kit, and I would presume that fit and finish are higher because of the premium brand

Thanks for the feedback. All the reading I've done it seems like a winner, and I don't think the extra money spent on the Lexus or Acura really get me that much more.

I'll wait till the end of the month and see if I can score a deal

Supersonic,

what did you end up doing. I keep wanting to get my wife out of her Nissan, it is really starting to bug me, and I don't trust anyone to work on it. I would like to get her into a CX-7, and want to see what people think about them. TIA

Hey L8,

I've held off till the end of this month, the wife thinks it's to sporty, and wanted to look at the lexus first. We were going to look at it this weekend, but honestly if it was up to me I'd go with the CX7, probably because it's sporty, but it still has all the comforts you could ever want.

I've test drove 3 of them, 2 were amazing, the 3rd was beaten so bad, no power, slipping tranny, and some trim missing, but I really think that was due to abuse, and I don't think it was indicative of the car itself.

If you're not in a hurry I'll post up what I do, and what deal I got ( I'll do it anyway ) but you'll have something to go on.

thanks for the response.

I am in no hurry. The wife does not really want to get a different car, I am the one that wants to get out of the Nissan. So, no rush at all.

I reccomend it to everyone that asks, and even some that don't

It's been a great vehicle, fast, sporty, comfortable, big enough to fit everything I need, great fit and finish.

And value wise, IMO it can't be beat!

is the space in the back really useful, it seems small everytime I look at them. while my wife and I don't tend to carry a lot of stuff around, when we travel, we do have two sets of golf clubs, and a couple bags with us.

It's not huge, but it's bigger then an X5.

I've had a couple golf bags in there, plus luggage for 3, stroller, cooler, and a bunch of other crap. The CX9 is MUCH bigger, but for the very few times you'd need it, I think it's overkill for everything else.

As I CX9 owner I can say that I like both very much, but just needed the extra space or the CX7 would have suited me better.

Mazda got it right though, mine has been great so far

Sorry, I should have posted back. The wife threw a hissy, and she's the proud, and I'm the broker owner of a Lexus RX.

Ah well, she doesn't complain when I spend stupid money on my stuff.

She loves it, and now I'm free to buy my toys now, I just have to hope it lasts for a while
