Cool Having Poblems with my idle....

I just bought an 87 b-2000 and already having trouble. I just replaced the distributer and it ran fine for 24 hours, and now it wont idle, runs rough and has actually died on me a couple of times on the road. Feels like there's water in the gas.(that's just what it feels like) I know there is no water in the gas...
I replaced the wires, that wasnt it... I replaced the cap and rotor, that wasnt it.... I have an accel coil... I have checked all hoses and smog stuff, and even fuel/air diaphram.... I'm stumped...

Is there a check engine light on?

Could be your idle control, a maf, or map sensor, etc. When it is running, does it run smooth, smell like gas? stutter before it dies, or just cuts out completely?

Have you changed the fuel filter? could be plugged up

I'm thinking EGR valve.. that can cause a bad idle, and hard to diagnose with out swapping it out. With your year, it's about due I would say.

Default I,m stumped...

Yes, I replaced the fuel filter. I ran carb cleaner through the carb. I just replaced the coil this morning and it seems to be running better but still seems rough. Spark plug wires are acting wierd. can't have them close to each other. Replaced wires yesterday but to no avail, so I put old ones back on. Replaced cap and rotor. No engine check light is on. #1 plug is clean, 2,3,4 are black... Bosch platinum plugs with the four contacts.

Hmm 234 are black is odd, makes me think either plug gap is off ( or wrong plugs ) but obiously it is fouling.

If the wires can't be close to each other means that they are improperly shielded which could definitely be your problem as interference or voltage drop would cause missfires and thus the blackend plugs
