Question Which technical bulletins have been applied to my car

Pardon my ignorance...

1) How do I know which technical bulletins have been applied to my vehicle? I live in Canada and bought the 2006 RX-8 second hand from a Mazda dealer.

2) Should 'Mazda' know I am the registered owner and send me the bulletins or do I have to register?

In particular I want to know if anything to do with spark-plugs / fuel consumption needs to be done.

Many thanks to the thousands that respond...

Welcome,

Sign up at Mazda.ca to thier owners lounge, you'll get all the recalls emailed to you. As for TSB's the dealer should have a history on your car, and can tell you want has been performed and what has not.

Keep in mind, most dealers don't like forums like this, becuase owners will go in and say I want this, this and this done, as per the TSB, it becomes a pita for them, but of course it's great for us to know.

They won't just change stuff, unless you have a problem.

Oh, and if everyone on this site replied, you'd still be short of those thousands, but you never know!

Yep, do exactly what Mindcore said and you'll be back to square.

Are you having any problems with the car?

Many thanks for the replies. The dealer I bought the car from is many miles away, and I use another now for service.

There is nothing wrong with the car apart from its huge appetite for gasoline. There appears to have been at least one TSB that is connected with consumption / spark plus / injectors. I wanted to ensure I was getting the best mpg and not creating future problems.

So I guess it leads to another question. If you had an early 2006 RX8 which TSBs would you want done?

And finally, I registered with mazda.ca but am having problems locating the section on TSBs. Can you tell me where it is?

I'd go thru this forum and pick and choose
http://www.coremazda.com/forums/mazd...bulletins-tsb/

Make sure all the ones listed as recalls are taken care of, these are usually a safety concern.
