Default Rx8 Fuel Problems

Frustrating problems with an 04 RX8, My car will start but there is no control from the accelerator. The amber engine light is on, anti-skid light too, the idle is running high but then hunts, as if there is a fuel restriction.Recently the engine had flooded due to short time lapse between starts/stops but had run fine post this incident. CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ANY SOLUTIONS?

I'd try resetting the ECU first, pull the fuse, or unhook the battery. But flooding wouldn't make the DSC come on.

Kind of sounds like an electical problem, did you drive through a puddle? Squirrels decide your car looked tasty?

has the battery recently been disconnected, there is a process that you need to go through after re-connecting the battery, that involves rotating the steering wheel that deals with the DSC/TC system. What year is the car, are you the original owner? If the engine was flooded, you might want to replace the spark plugs with the newer design plugs, especially if the flooded plugs were original equipment.

Other than that, I would say you need to get your car to a service center.

I had to do the same thing when my battery died.
