It's been a while, great progress Rick. Your car is really coming along nicely

I like to think so, thanks

The real test will be the next 3 weekends... this sat at nellis, next sunday at primm... and the following weekend at Evolution school

Too bad it will be another month break after that before an event...

Well, the sway bars completely changed the car. Took us a few runs to get used to it... also scored a probe-based pyrometer for the tires... looks like we need about another degree of camber dialed in for the next event at all 4 corners... Hopefully we'll get the chance to work on the camber plates this week.

Good stuff Rick, it's always fun when you make a change then learning to get the most out of it. Then when you go back and look at your times from the year before, you wonder how you came so far

Racingbeat's, both front and rear.

ordered straight from RB, they were cheaper than even the cheapest of e-bay's offerings... and came w/poly bushings and better brackets.

still shopping for endlinks, tho.... we'd like to get some solid/teflon heim-joint style endlinks, instead of poly-bushings... tho the RB endlinks would still be a major upgrade over the worn out stock ones...

actually, since the sways, since we've had 3 weeks straight of events, the only mods we've done have been hawk hps+ brake pads, and rebuilt the clutch slave+master cylinders (blew a seal in the master halfway thru the first set of runs at the first event... made shifting for the rest of the day... difficult )

this past weekend was evolution driving school, tho... had a blast, but I'm hesitant to review it until after the next autocross on nov11/12, when i'll get to try out my new skills next.

couple new pics tho:

and one of national champ Tom Kotzian showing me how its done:

Excellent!

The more I see your car, the more I want one! I might look for one in the spring for fun, and then ask you a million questions all next summer

People will be saying, where did that Rick guy go? how come he doesn't come here any more?

I know its been a while since I've posted... been working crazy amounts of overtime, and I've secured 1st place in class w/the car for the year, with 1 event remaining on Dec9.

But, most work on this car is now on hold... just took delivery of this beaut-

'76 RX3 SP

Woo... when I said project car... I meant PROJECT.. and will need quite a bit of work...

Congrats on the first place!

and you must, MUST post your build on the RX3, I soooo love those cars. I'd love to follow your progress on it. If I had the time, smarts, money, etc. I'd love to do one up myself.
