Do you have access to an OBD reader?

Default Engine Check Light:smash

No I don't the only information I have is which terminals to bridge on the diagnostics box but there doesn't seem to be an engine check light. I am in the UK and car was imported from Japan also have a Jap import Toyota celica GT4 and its a doddle just stick a wire in the diagnostics socket and away you go just count the flashes on the engine check light on the dash.

If there is no light, then you're pretty much out of luck. For 25 bucks any garage should be able to read it for you though.

That is a HUGE rip!

I mean you could wire an LED into your harness where the CEL should be, but that would take some fancy wiring, making sure you have the right wires, and generally be more trouble then it's worth.

otherwise though, I can't think of a way for you to figure it out, other then diagnosing the symptoms

Ye your right bud hopefully we will get there in the end , the way I look at it is if something is broke or not working there has to be a fix.

Oh ya, there is always a fix, you just have to be patient to find it sometimes.

If it was easy, everyone would do it!
