i figured out that with my updated Window Media Player, I also wound up with Windows Movie maker here at work, so i am going to dump video in the morning. My poor laptop has had it's abilities exceeded, so that is why i have not been able to get new video up.

hopefully tomorrow.

you will probably find, that you will learn more about what you are capable of. For the average owner, me included, the car has a LOT more than I can extract from it.

I need to plan a little better. I brought the camera in, got all setup...batteries are dead, charger is at home.

a picture will have to suffice until tomorrow. it is amazing I get anything done.

yeah, I need to get to it. Been really busy, maybe I can bring the cam in tomorrow, and get something up for folks to watch and live vicariously. I have a good one chasing an Exige S...and passing and it has some decent footage.

OHHH I'd like to see the exige one.. I love those cars. I keep thinking, should I? should I sell my baby for one of those?

Obviously driver dependent, but what were your thoughts on the Exige?

it is a VERY competent track car. I would hate to won one for daily use, there is little to no space on the inside, and blind spots bigger than the car. it has zero rear visibility, the side mirrors are your only clue to what is behind you. not to mention, getting in and out, is by no means graceful, I took one look at the inside, and said, no way I can get in there, and ever hope to get back out.

in the hands of the right driver, who is willing to push the car, it is capable of being very fast. much faster than the 8. in the straights, I got walked, and once I get the vid up you can see it, I was matted, doing my best to try to keep up with HER.

She had the car well prepped, it had 17" Hoosiers, race exhaust, fully built suspension with new coilovers, ALCON brakes that barely fit in the wheels, and then she had the interior done too, nice CF seat custom fit to her. Had she been willing to maximize the cars ability, I would not have seen her after turn 3. As it was, I had a hard time keeping up, because she could pull such a gap on me in the straights, that I had to brake much later, and carry a lot more speed through the corners. Once I did get by her, I left her, but only because I have more seat time, and am willing to push a little harder.

in the right hands, the 8 has no chance.

I will try to remember to bring the camera in tomorrow. I am usually half asleep when I leave in the morning, and always forget to pick up the camera.

I figured as much, how can such a little car with a good hp/weight ratio not be good?

But I agree everytime I see one on the road I wonder what they are doing?? if they ain't heading for a track, they must be suckers for punishment

ehe... some people like to "feel" the road. I daily drive my CSP prepared mx-5 w/all the same setup as I would at a competition event (with minor air pressure and shock setting differences due to my street tires making the car behave differently than my r-comps)

Occasinally I drive a car with a more "luxurious" ride, and I'm uncomfortable as all hell.

I know my mx-5 isn't exactly an exige... but its no caddilac either, ehe...

There's feel the road, and then there's having your balls ache

My buddy has one, sorry had one, it met a wall, but I drove it quite a bit, and it was fun as hell, but a back and forth to work car it was not. When I wanted to go for a rip, I was giddy to drive it. I was stuck in traffic for a couple hours one day in it and I felt like pulling over and walking the rest of the way. The suspension, noise, rattle, the seats that might as well be plywood, the who am I kidding, if I could afford another car, it would probably be an exige/elise

I have not been to the track in ages, and that sucks. but I was there this past weekend to shoot some pictures. it will have to hold me over until April 5-6 when I have my first event of the year, and you can be sure there will be plenty of vids from it.

But in the meantime:
pictures from Road Atlanta this past weekend.

OnRails

Dano

SPICcnmGT(loved his car, it shot monster flames on the back straight!)

Levent, with a tire going down.

DonC in the GT...it sounded sooooo good.

and DonnaC in the Exige.

and one of my favorites from the weekend, a nice yellow 348...

and the rest of the pictures I took can be found in -->The Gallery

Awesome pics!

There is a guy that I always see with a 348 Stradale race car that I always see at the track, I always start drooling when he's lapping

ok, some new vids. none from in my car yet. I have not had time. we were at Carolina Motorsports Park in South Carolina, Saturday was wet and soggy, Sunday dried out, but that threat of wet grass if you left the track had me a little cautious. Anyway, we had a blast, I hope to get some vids up first part of next week.

for now, this one OnRails follows me for a little while, while I clearly hold him up, but there is some good flame throwing at one point. he has gotten much faster, and has much bigger, stickier tires.

OnRails at CMP

and in this one he has his best laps of the weekend.
OnRails Best laps

enjoy.
