First Photos of 2008 Mazda Kazamai Concept
We thought we'd have to wait until August 26th for photos of Mazda's new show car, but the company leaked a few shots of its Kazamai concept before its unveiling at the 2008 Moscow motor show.Early sketches of the Kazamai suggested it could closely resemble the 2006 Hakaze concept, but the photos reveal the new crossover design carries much more influence from Mazda's sports cars. The concept's roofline, particularly in its C-pillar kink, echoes that of the RX-8, while the front fascia and side surfaces seem to have evolved from the Furai concept shown at the 2008 Detroit show. Exact details on the concept are presently unknown, but Mazda claims the crossover makes use of a 'next-generation' direct-injection engine and an all-new transmission design, sending power to the road via an all-wheel drive system. Look for a little more detail surrounding the Kazamai's powertrain to surface closer to its August debut. Haha. That thing's insane! Like someone took an old picture of a mazda and then just screwed it all up. Looks quite like the conversation car though.

I would drive one. Maybe with different wheels, they remind me of some cheap Konigs, but the car itself is pretty cool. Mazda keeps making these artistic show cars, I can't wait until they actually produce something based on them.
