Just picked up a copper red mica Sport convertible.
![]() Wanted the hard top but they aren't around these parts much. They had a black one but for Florida I'm afraid that it would be simply too hot. Looking into adding a USB connector for my flash drive as I have the single CD player. Car drives great and looks great!! Reminds me of my old MG's but far more well built and sophisticated. Glad to be aboard... J ![]() Last edited by hodad66 : 08-02-2007 at 12:57 PM. |

They have one just for the Ipod (I don't own one) so this will simply read MP3 files and play them from 6 different folders with up to 99 files each. Here's a discussion of installation.. Here ![]() Last edited by hodad66 : 08-06-2007 at 01:37 PM. |

Got mine (USB model) installed. Took the kid 10 minutes!
It's so great to have all that music available again. My Scion xA could play MP3 CD's. The steering wheel controls work fine and you can bring sub folders in to the CD01, 02, etc main folders. I'm very happy that I got this item. ![]() |

That's probably true.
The Miata was the first roadster in years, inspired by the likes of the old MG's Fiats, etc. and I think being that they kept true to the greatness of those old cars, people see alot of that in the Miata. I won't say recapturing your youth, but maybe a bit of nostalgia of those good old days ![]() |

Luv your car great colour...Do the different Models of MX-5 in the US have Name's ie Mica.Miata ? is the Eunos one as well?....never saw that here (saw a Eunos was told it was Jap import) they seem to just have model numbers as in MK 1=Miata - Mk 2 & Mk2.5=? Mk 3= Mica?...did they call the Mk2 & Mk2.5 a name too?
I get mine this week...so just trying to find out more about them.... ![]() Regards Jim. Last edited by Newmx5guy : 09-15-2007 at 08:14 PM. Reason: not enough info |

mica just describes how the paint seems to shine like mica/crystal, etc... Mica - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia as far as the eunos... in japan, and a few other countries (australia i think is another major one?) eunos is mazda's brand name for their more 'luxurious' vehicles... kind of like their version of ford's lincoln brand. In those countried the MX5 is actually the Eunos MX-5 Roadster (instead of Mazda MX-5 Miata), and who doesn't secretly love the Eunos Cosmo ![]() Now as far as the NA/NB/NC reference... that all has to do w/the VIN# of the car... for the first "generation" of the cars ( built between 1989-1998 - tho the official model years are 1990-1997) part of the VIN# reads NA. "Second Gen" ( built between 1998-2004, official mdoel years 1999-2004, including the Mazdaspeed version) have that same part of the VIN# as NB, and starting for the next major upgrade, 2005 to 2007 model years have NC in that portion of the VIN# code. I haven't seen a 2008 yet, so I can't be sure, but I'm betting it will fall into the "NC" category too... tho i have seen a sneak peek of what the aero package for the proposed mazdaspeed version may look like... and I've got my fingers crossed that I was fed real information... As of now, the 2004 Mazdaspeed reigns as my pick for the "sexiest" MX-5... tho if the pic I saw is anything like the 08 MS version... its some very minor changes to the 07, but somehow just tie the car together into something amazing. Tho, with the right bits added every year of the MX-5 still looks (and drives!) like a work of art ![]() Only its a durable work of art that can be raced and abused and still last several hundred thousand miles longer than most other cars And of course, the geek in me has to throw out some random trivia- MX-5 was designed using schools of thought known as- "Jinba Ittai" roughly translated means "Rider and Horse as one." "Kansei" roughly means "sensory engineering" or "emotional usability." Also, some insight to why its named 'Miata'- Reward tho, I definitely think "She who pleases everyone, or makes everyone happy" or "reward" both fit equally well.
